The election season may be finished, but PolitiFact Ohio is just getting started.
PolitiFact Ohio launched July 25 just as the election season was picking up steam. Since then we've reviewed more than 80 statements made by politicians.
Along the way we awarded True and Mostly True ratings to 31 statements. At the other end of the scale, 15 were rated False. Another nine were deemed so ridiculous they were worthy of Pants on Fire.
While the bulk of the statements came from candidates and their campaigns, PolitiFact Ohio's mission didn't end when the voting ended.
PolitiFact Ohio's goal is to reveal truth in politics and government by sorting through the spin and arming readers with facts. So as Congress gears up for a lame-duck session and Ohio's government moves on from the election, PolitiFact Ohio will be listening to what's being said.

That means readers can soon expect to see new fact-checking items.
And beginning in January, PolitiFact Ohio will introduce a new feature that will examine the promises made by John Kasich during his run for Ohio governor.
Patterned after PolitiFact national's Obameter, this feature will allow readers to track the new Kasich administration's progress toward fulfilling those campaign promises — and alert them when one is broken.
