After Univision's Jorge Ramos told NPR's Steve Inskeep that 80 journalists had died in Mexico in the last decade, he gave us his main sources, two groups that separately track such.
We shortly realized that any count of such deaths is slippery.
For instance, one group said only 24 such deaths were confirmed as directly related to a person's work as a journalist in the country. Another group provided a list suggesting up to 89 journalist deaths from 2006 into 2016.
See our full rundown, which ended with Ramos' statement getting rated Half True.
