On May 31, Michael Sussmann, a lawyer who worked for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, was found not guilty of lying to the FBI in 2016. The charge stemmed from an investigation by special counsel John Durham, who was appointed during the Trump administration to investigate the FBI’s probe of the former president’s ties to Russia.
But another narrative is unfolding online.
"U.S. military arrests Michael Sussmann," read text in a video posted on Facebook on June 8. It said that Sussmann had been arrested by JAG on charges of treason.
