Ohio Republican Jim Jordan didn’t send President Joe Biden to jail
If Your Time is short
- U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, didn’t—and can’t—send President Joe Biden to jail.
President Joe Biden isn’t in custody, but a recent Facebook post suggests otherwise.
"‘HE BUYS FAKE-NEWS’ Jim Jordan sends Biden STRAIGHT TO JAIL at SCOTUS with SH0CKING ‘laptop’ photos," reads a March 31 Facebook post.
It was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook.)
Jordan doesn’t have the power to send Biden to jail, nor does he threaten to in a 15-minute video in the Facebook post. The clip is from an April 1, 2022, hearing of the House Committee on the Judiciary about "enhancing the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938."
