A popular video promised tears from Pelosi and an exoneration for Trump. It delivered neither.
An April 1 Facebook post promises more than it can deliver.
"Pelosi cries like kid after Trump’s lawyer proves her client ‘innocence,’" reads the grammatically confusing description of a nearly nine-minute video in the post.
But no such thing happens in the clip.
This post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook.)
The video is a clip of a recent Newsmax segment in which the anchors discuss former President Donald Trump’s indictment in New York. The clip does not mention U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., crying, and features no evidence of her doing so.

The anchors discuss a recent tweet from the former House speaker about Trump’s March 30 indictment with Alina Habba, one of the former president’s lawyers.

Pelosi’s March 31 tweet said, "The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law. No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence. Hopefully, the former president will peacefully respect the system, which grants him that right."
Twitter users and Habba criticized Pelosi’s tweet, because the presumption at trial is that a person is innocent until proven guilty.
But there were no tears as the junk headline promised. We rate this post is False.
