Don’t be fooled; Elon Musk isn’t linked to this get-rich-quick scheme

If Your Time is short

  • This isn’t real.

A hodgepodge of quotes attributed to entrepreneur and Twitter owner Elon Musk appear in a recent Facebook post promising a big payday for anyone willing to invest a couple of hundred dollars.

"I will give you $100,000 if you don’t become a millionaire for a couple of month," reads text below a photo of Musk.

A purported Musk tweet says: "QuantumAi platform where everyone can make €650 each day just by invested initial sum of €250."

A link in the post says: "Elon: ‘Make 1 million $AUD in 90 days while sleeping in…"

Anyone who clicks the link hoping to become a millionaire will be disappointed: it leads to a page purportedly selling a green tea face mask, among other products.

Plus, we found no evidence that Musk made any of the statements the post attributes to him.  The tweet appears to be doctored, and we came up empty looking for credible news reports or other sources connecting him to "QuantumAi."

We did find a website that appears in Google search results as "Quantum Ai Elon Musk App," and the link leads to a site that describes Quantum AI as a tool for crypto traders. But scrolling down to the frequently asked questions section reveals a bait-and-switch.

The site says it is "fake news" that Musk has invested in Quantum AI, and he has not "expressed any interest in our platform."

We rate this post False.
